CW: casual misogyny and objectification of Newton's character

This is very different to the first. John Woo is on board and it shows. Where previously there was little violence this is bullet heavy in places especially the conclusion. There's even a bit with birds in slow motion FFS give it a rest mate.

It's slicker too, the gadgets are almost modern and there's that infamously OTT motorcycle chase and "battle" full of insane stunts. What it loses is the espionage feel: we're in full action caper mode.

Newton's character is treated horribly it's the one part of the film that really dates it, it's like a role inserted from the 1980s.

Overall this is good fun though 7/10 and much more reflects what the franchise became. There is sadly a small hint of the overuse of face swapping mask nonsense that I recall being annoying in the third instalment.
