Y2K

Eli (Jaeden Martell) and Danny (Julian Dennison) are awkward kids, trying too hard to be cool in the run up to New Year's Eve 1999. Originally planning to stay in and watch videos they raid Eli's parents' liquor cabinet and head to a party because Eli's crush Laura (Rachel Zegler) will be there.

No good will come of this.

Linda (Rachel McAdams) works in Strategy and Planning with a head for statistics and rules that makes her a real asset to the company. She's not particularly popular: Linda is prone to social faux pas but the CEO has lined her up for promotion.

When he passes away suddenly and his son Bradley (Dylan O'Brien) takes over this is immediately canned and he gives the role to one of his golf bros in the Sales dept. He needs a "people person".

The company is relying Linda's expertise for a complicated business negotiation so she joins the crowd of executives on the company jet to Thailand. Bradley lured her on board with a 'second chance' at promotion but plans to let her go straight after this.

When the plane ditches and only Linda and an injured Bradley make it to a small tropical island her outdoorsy hobbies and obsession with the TV show Survivor puts her very much in charge.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come

In the first movie, Grace (Samara Weaving) marries into an old money family only to find out that her in-laws are Satanists who live by byzantine rules set down by a "Mr. Le Bail" in return for great wealth and power.

These rules occasionally include human sacrifice and Grace is chucked into a to-the-death game of hide and seek on her wedding night.

Unexpectedly Grace wins, killing the whole Le Domas family, but now this opens up a seat at the table of the global cabal of Satanists. Mr Le Bail's rules say she must contest for this.

They Will Kill You

"Isabella" (Zazie Beetz), a new maid, arrives at The Virgil on a dark rainy night. She's desperate for work and using false ID.

It's a baroque old building with a large in-house staff tending to rich tenants and Superintendent Lily (Patricia Arquette) welcomes her, setting Isabella up in her new room.

No good will come of this.

Midnight Run

Bounty Hunter Jack Walsh (Robert De Niro) is contracted by bail bondsman Eddie (Joe Pantoliano) to find famous former Mob accountant Jonathan "Duke" Mardukas (Charles Grodin).

Duke's fame comes from how, when he found out who he was working for, stole $15m from the Chicago Mob gave the bulk of it to charities and went on the run.

Mob Boss Jimmy Serrano (Dennis Farina) is, not unexpectedly, also looking for Duke but so is FBI agent Mosely (Yaphet Kotto) who wants to turn him State's evidence.

Shenanigans ensue.

No other choice

Yoo Man-su (Lee Byung-hun) "has everything": a smart pragmatic wife Lee Mi-ri (Son Ye-jin), two well behaved kids one of who's a cello prodigy, a good job, an expansive quirky home that was built by his father in good times and a pair of fat contended labradors.

When the job that supports all this disappears and he struggles through a series of embarrassing failed job interviews he becomes quite untethered. Eventually as it looks like the house is going to be repossessed Man-su comes up with a solution: eliminate the competition.

Pre-emptively, and permanently.

Wag the Dog

When it seems PotUS is about to be implicated in a sex scandal a mere 11 days before election day a group of aides including Winifred Ames (Anne Heche) bring in spin doctor Conrad Breane (Robert De Niro).

Breane decides nothing short of a war can keep this out of the news and he knows just the person to stage that war: Hollywood producer Stanley Motss (Dustin Hoffman).

Freaky Tales

Four different Freaky Tales overlap in an alternative 1980s Oakland where a basketball star promotes mind expanding mysticism on TV, a washed up enforcer has nothing left to lose, a rap duo dream of making it big and punks fight skinhead Nazis.

Eenie Meanie

Edie (Samara Weaving) spent her teenage years in criminal circles acting as a driver in a series of heists until something went very wrong.

She's trying to get by now as a more responsible adult but struggling and when she gets some unexpected news goes to visit her feckless on/off boyfriend John (Karl Glusman) .

No good will come of this.

Sneakers

Many years after going on the run for an early computer crime incident, Marty (Robert Redford) has established what would now be called a pentesting company. Staffed by various misfits and a disgraced former CIA operative it's effective but not hugely financially successful.

When the NSA ask him to take a job targeting a US research institute, something outside their jurisdiction, he rejects it despite a big dangled paycheck . Marty still has the anti-authoritarian leanings from his youth and this has a whiff of spying on the public. When the NSA agents casually drop his real name he knows he has no choice.

No good will come of this.

The Monkey

Twin brothers Hal and Bill Shelburn (Christian Convery as the kids / Theo James as the adults) find a wind up toy monkey in their long missing father's possessions. Seemingly broken, turning the key does nothing.

Later that night as suddenly The Monkey whirrs into life their babysitter dies in a freak hibachi accident. Hal connects this directly with the death and comes to live in fear of the Monkey, which seems to change location when you're not paying attention. One day he tries to cut it up, only to find it back again.

After relentless bullying both by brother Bill and his classmates Hal turns the key again hoping it will kill his brother.

Idiocracy

Joe (Luke Wilson) is an astonishingly mediocre guy working in an archive department in the US military. He's trying very hard to avoid involvement in anything until he can muster out and cash in his pension but gets assigned to a secret military project.

When he arrives he finds that along with a prostitute Rita (Maya Rudolph) he has been chosen to test an experimental hibernation device that will revive the pair in one year's time.

No good will come of this.

CW: packed with slurs, generally offensive language, stereotypes and attitudes, which are all a key point of this pitch black satire

Dream Scenario

Paul Matthews (Nicolas Cage) is a tenured Professor of evolutionary biology at a mediocre University.

He feels he has failed academically and is bitter at onetime colleagues who have been more successful. He's not a bad man and his family love him but his wife Janet (Julianne Nicholson) does admit he has asshole tendencies.

When people all over the world start to experience him being present in their dreams he "goes viral".

Yule Log 2: Branchin' out

Zoe (Andrea Laing), the lone survivor of the cabin massacre in "Yule log" struggles to cope, seeing the killer log everywhere and has taken to carrying an axe at all times. Her erratic behaviour gets her sacked and she departs for a holiday in Mexico to try and 'reset'.

On the way a freak accident leaves her stuck in the cute little town of Mistletoe which is about to host its annual Yule Log Festival.

Wallace and Gromit: The Wrong Trousers

Eccentric inventor Wallace (Peter Sallis) and his anthropomorphic dog Gromit are low on funds after he bought a ridiculous birthday present to automate walkies: ex-NASA technotrousers. Forced to take in a lodger they end up with a seemingly pleasant Penguin but as soon as they've moved in it's clear they have designs on Gromit's place in the household.

No good will come of this.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

Years after the events of "The Wrong Trousers", Wallace (Ben Whitehead) and his anthropomorphic dog Gromit still live in a state of mild domestic chaos both helped and hindered by Wallace's madcap inventions which have automated many of their chores.

Gromit's only sanctuary is his garden but Wallace designs a robotic gnome NORBOT (Reece Shearsmith) to 'help' there as well. When it proves to be astonishingly efficient in transforming the whole thing, neighbours start asking if NORBOT is for hire and local TV reporter Onya Doorstop (Diane Morgan) comes to report on the amazing invention.

Ravenous

Mid 19th Century: Capt. Boyd (Guy Pearce) is sent to Fort Spencer in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It's winter with little of the Westward expansion happening that justifies its existence. Rostered by a crew of misfits Boyd is instructed to settle in for a comfy, if boring season.

Out of the night comes F.W. Colqhoun (Robert Carlyle), a Scottish immigrant with a dread tale of cannibalism amongst travellers lost in the mountains not that far away.

The Fort's First Nation scout warns of The Wendigo: what a man who has eaten human flesh becomes but nonetheless an expedition to the caves is organised.

Mean Girls

Cady (Lindsay Lohan) has spent her childhood in Africa with her Academic parents and when she enrols in High School at 16 it is the first formal schooling of her life.

Completely unprepared for the cliquey teen environment she struggles to make friends and initially befriends the outcasts Janis (Lizzy Caplan) and Damian (Daniel Franzese).

Unexpectedly she is 'noticed' by the school's 'Queen Bee', Regina George (Rachel McAdams) who starts to cultivate her friendship. Janis and Damian warn Cady about how toxic Regina is and the trio decide to use this as an opportunity to take her and the other 'Plastics' down. However to take down a Mean Girl, Cady will have to become one.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

When an ancient artefact bursting with psychic power is brought into Ray Stanz' curiosity shop he hands it over to the Ghostbusters without really explaining how dangerous it might be.

No good will come of this.

Asteroid City

The final work by acclaimed playwright Conrad Earp is the subject of a documentary and we see reconstructions of its writing, production and in the main, a mind's eye view of the story imagined in the play itself.
