Wallace and Gromit: The Wrong Trousers

Eccentric inventor Wallace (Peter Sallis) and his anthropomorphic dog Gromit are low on funds after he bought a ridiculous birthday present to automate walkies: ex-NASA technotrousers. Forced to take in a lodger they end up with a seemingly pleasant Penguin but as soon as they've moved in it's clear they have designs on Gromit's place in the household.

No good will come of this.

This piece of stop motion cemented Aardman's position as a "national treasure" but is obviously simpler than their later output. With no other supporting characters and comparatively little dialogue it's really stripped back to the core elements where things like "Curse of the WereRabbit" got a bit bloated by comparison.

None of this matters though, this is the stuff we want from them and the train set chase is iconic. 10/10 no notes.
