He feels he has failed academically and is bitter at onetime colleagues who have been more successful. He's not a bad man and his family love him but his wife Janet (Julianne Nicholson) does admit he has asshole tendencies.
When people all over the world start to experience him being present in their dreams he "goes viral".
No good will come of this.

Kristoffer Borgli's surreal satirical comedy drama about the fickle nature of fame, especially social media/pop culture derived sensation is kind of sad.
At first enlivened by notoriety Paul is just too awkward to 'build a brand' and when predictably the dreams turn to nightmares becomes a full-blown 'milkshake duck'.
Excellent subtle performances from Cage and Nicholson make this quite a gentle thing with the little mistakes making for life altering situations.
Highly recommended 8/10.
