His date Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy) is less interested in such things but resolves to make the best of the evening.
No good will come of this.
CW: suicide, very mild horror
This is another of those "rich assholes get what's coming to them but there's one prole there to bear witness" tales that seem kind of common at the moment both in movies and TV.
It's well done, super glossy and blackly comic with good performances, especially from Fiennes but also Janet McTeer as a pretentious critic.
However it does feel just a little empty so while it's very gripping as it unfolds I can't imagine it sticking in the mind for very long afterwards.
Recommended, 7/10 but this is just a food based version of a very zeitgeisty style of tales.
