Brainstorm

 Dr. Lillian Reynolds (Louise Fletcher) and Dr Mark Brace (Christopher Walken) are working on a machine to record sensory input directly from the brain and play it back into the brain of another person. After some initial success their industrial sponsor fully funds the project and starts to develop a product around it, bringing in Brace's estranged wife Karen (Natalie Wood) for this part of things.

As it develops they manage to capture emotions and memory with great positive applications emerging but also some dangerous ones.

The Fly

 Ronnie Quaife (Geena Davis) is a journalist working for a pop science magazine looking for an interesting story at a conference when Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) tells her he has an invention that will change the entire world.

Somewhat sceptical she goes to his run down warehouse laboratory to find out more.

Videodrome

 Max Renn (James Woods) is one of the board of Civic TV a niche broadcast TV channel specialising in lurid material, mostly violence and soft porn. He is always on the lookout for anything that will bring in viewers in a completely ruthless quest for audience share.

One day his "talent scout" finds a satellite channel showing scenes of sadomasochistic bondage, torture and murder with no pretence at narrative: Videodrome.

Paris, Texas

 A traumatised unspeaking man (Harry Dean Stanton) staggers out of the desert with nothing to identify him but a scrap of paper with a name and a phone number in an empty wallet

On the other end of that number is Walt Henderson (Dean Stockwell) who comes to believe this is his brother Travis, missing some four years and presumed dead. Walt travels to Texas to collect him but Travis is reluctant like he's still running from or towards something only he can visualise.

Back home Travis' young son Hunter is waiting, who Walt and his wife have been raising as their own.

The Conversation

 Harry Caul (Gene Hackman) works in the surveillance business doing mostly work for corporate clients.

His most recent job involves a complicated multi-source recording of a couple most likely having an affair talking as they walk in a busy city square.

When he goes to drop the tape off he gets a strange vibe from the client's PA (Harrison Ford) so leaves again with it and decides to go over the originals furhter to see if he can extract any more from the garbled sections.

A Boy and his Dog

 After WWIV has left America a blasted wasteland life is nasty brutish and short, especially if you are a woman. Raiders roam the surface including Vic (Don Johnson) and his telepathic dog Blood (voice: Tim McIntire) taking what they can from others.

Vic is endlessly horny and when blood says he can smell a woman near the makeshift porn theatre they visit they set out to find her.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

It is the time of the Reaping for the 10th Hunger Games but with the public of the Capitol tiring of them it is decided to introduce a mentoring system where a young Capitol notable will be their publicist and advocate. This will also come with a great prize for the best effort.

Young Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) is allocated Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler) from District 12. She is a travelling singer with no suitable skills but Snow believes he can steer her just enough to claim the prize. While his family is famous they have fallen on hard times and he's willing to do anything to win.

Night Swim

Former baseball star Ray Waller (Wyatt Russell) is struggling with life following a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. He and his wife Eve (Kerry Condon) are 'downsizing' and find a house they think will suit the family: it even has a pool which will be helpful for the hydrotherapy he's been recommended.

Godzilla Minus One

At the close of WWII, Kamikaze pilot Kōichi Shikishima (Ryunosuke Kamiki) disgraces himself by failing in his mission and returning to an airbase on the island of Odo. That night a local monster of legend: Godzilla rises from the sea and kills most there with Shikishima surviving again when he is too cowardly to turn the guns of his plane on the creature and instead hiding.

Returning to the mainland he finds his parents are dead, killed in US air raids that destroyed almost everything.

Poverty and despair abound but he takes in a young woman Noriko (Minami Hamabe) who clutches an orphan child and the pair build an unusual family unit among the ruins. He takes a dangerous job working on a minesweeper clearing the seas around Japan of the unexploded weapons of war.

Now just as hope begins to blossom Godzilla returns, seemingly huge now and attacking shipping until the US withdraws leaving Japan to face the threat alone.

Shikishima's war is not over.

Atlas

Decades after an AI revolt that started with the murder of her mother and ultimately left millions dead Atlas Shepherd (Jennifer Lopez) is part of the hunt for the rogue domestic robot Harlan (Sim Liu) that started it all.

When she uncovers a lead pointing to a distant planet Shepherd joins the team of mech pilot Rangers sent to flush him out.

Hit Man

Gary (Glen Powell) is a Psychology lecturer who moonlights as a consultant to a Police Dept. team that picks up on people who try hire contract killers, gets them on surveillance to admit their plans and arrests them.

When the undercover Detective who poses as the titular Hit Man is suspended Gary steps in on short notice and finds he has a great talent for this.

One day he falls for a client, Madison (Adria Arjona).
