Atlas

Decades after an AI revolt that started with the murder of her mother and ultimately left millions dead Atlas Shepherd (Jennifer Lopez) is part of the hunt for the rogue domestic robot Harlan (Sim Liu) that started it all.

When she uncovers a lead pointing to a distant planet Shepherd joins the team of mech pilot Rangers sent to flush him out.

No good will come of this.

The 90s called: it says it wants its movie back.

This is every odd couple buddy action team up ever but this time half of the team is a big-ass mech. With a side order of the feel of Pacific Rim despite no actual story similarity.

It's loud garish, clumsily plotted, hammily acted and full of ideas you shouldn't think about too hard lest they evaporate under scrutiny.

Exactly like it should be.

Covering very similar ground to The Creator this doesn't take itself anywhere near as seriously and is better for it. You know it's tripe. They know it's tripe. It doesn't matter, 7/10 recommended for being exactly what it promises to be and no more.
