Paris, Texas

A traumatised unspeaking man (Harry Dean Stanton) staggers out of the desert with nothing to identify him but a scrap of paper with a name and a phone number in an empty wallet

On the other end of that number is Walt Henderson (Dean Stockwell) who comes to believe this is his brother Travis, missing some four years and presumed dead. Walt travels to Texas to collect him but Travis is reluctant like he's still running from or towards something only he can visualise.

Back home Travis' young son Hunter is waiting, who Walt and his wife have been raising as their own.

"Meridian Hotel, Room 1520"

Oof.

Nothing much happens but it's beautiful and sad while it doesn't.

A road movie for the soul where you're going to hand things over to somebody else before you leave because you know you can't take them with you.

Highly recommended 9/10.
