Stir of Echoes

Tom (Kevin Bacon) and Maggie (Kathryn Erbe) live in a blue collar neighborhood of Chicago and their son Jake can see the dead, although this mostly manifests as him having "invisible friends" that aren't problematic.

One night at a party Tom is goaded into being hypnotised by Maggie's sister where she instructs him to "open up" little knowing Tom too has the same gift, just repressed.

A Cure for Wellness

 The CEO of a major financial services corporation in New York sends a strange rambling letter to the board from his stay at a Swiss "wellness retreat" saying he will likely not return. It's a disaster: they are mid merger and rumours of his absence have got out, tanking the share price.

Rising star salesman Lockhart (Dane Dehaan) is dispatched to bring the CEO back, by any means necessary.

Promising Young Woman

Cassie Thomas (Carey Mulligan) haunts nightclubs and bars of L.A. pretending to be insensibly drunk and vulnerable and if a predatory man tries to pick her up will go with them, later shaming them.

MaXXXine

 1985, years after the events of "X", Maxine Minx (Mia Goth) is an established porn star but is trying to break into "straight" movies as she says herself: "in porn, women age like bread not wine".

British horror auteur Elizabeth Bender (Elizabeth Debicki) gives her a chance at the lead in horror sequel "Puritan II" but all the while the Satanic serial killer "The Night Stalker" is terrorising L.A. and seemingly working his way through Maxine's friends and colleagues.

Baghead

 When her long estranged father dies in Berlin, Iris (Freya Allen) travels there and finds she has inherited an "English Pub": The Queen's Head. The executor urges her to break up the estate but on seeing the place Iris decides to sign the deeds as it may get her out of her poverty stricken rut in the UK.

The Instigators

 It is the eve of the Boston Mayoral election where incumbent Mayor Miccelli (Ron Perlman) is expected to romp home. Miccelli is notoriously corrupt and reputedly many favours and contracts will be bought with cash bribes at his private victory party.

Nobody crosses the Mayor but local crime boss Mr Besegai decides to raid the party and steal the cash. When the rumour gets out he's going to try roll the Mayor nobody will take the job except the desperate: ex-con Cobby (Casey Affleck) and down on his luck ex-Marine Rory (Matt Damon).

Alien: Romulus

On the mining colony Jackson's Star, Rain (Cailee Spaeny) just like endless generations of young people stuck in a dead end location longs to escape. She has more motivation than most: the perilous mining work ultimately killed her parents.

Rain cares for her 'brother' Andy (David Jonsson) a damaged Synthetic her father fixed up who is somewhat childlike and occasionally malfunctions. When she was a child he was a playmate, now he's a dependent.

When a group of her friends tries to recruit her for a less than legal caper to loot a decommissioned Weyland-Yutani installation they've detected while on a supply run in their beaten up mining shuttle she reluctantly agrees. This may be her only ticket out of there.
