One night at a party Tom is goaded into being hypnotised by Maggie's sister where she instructs him to "open up" little knowing Tom too has the same gift, just repressed.
No good will come of this.
This is a real late 90s treat. Not really horror, more just a ghost story with strong family drama doing more of the heavy lifting than anything sinister or scary.
It's notable for straight off the bat Tom going for "I see dead people" and Maggie accepting something is going on because there's stuff they couldn't possibly otherwise know to back it up. This is a real contrast with the usual boring trope of one person bottling it up and being disbelieved if anybody finds out.
Kind of contemporaneous with The Sixth Sense it isn't as well known but covers similar ground. All the cast are good even if the story isn't as complicated and twisty.
Recommended 7/10.
