Infinity Pool

Writer James (Alexander Skarsgård) and his heiress wife Em (Cleopatra Coleman) are holidaying in an enclave resort on (fictional island nation) Li Tolqa.

When he bumps into a fan Gabi (Mia Goth) she persuades the couple to go outside the fence for a boozy picnic. On the drive back there is an accident and James kills a local.

The following day Police Detective Thresh informs him that the penalty for this is death at the hands of the victim's eldest son. However there is an alternative, for a handsome price. He can have a 'double' take his place.

Years after the events of "The Terminator" John Connor (Edward Furlong) is a juvenile delinquent in the custody of foster parents while his mother Sarah (Linda Hamilton) languishes in a sanitarium.

John lived a strange itinerant life being raised to be the great military leader his mother said he was "riding in helicopters, learning to blow shit up" until one day she was arrested and he encountered the normal world. Clearly all the talk of Judgement Day was psychosis. He blames her for his messed up life.

That is until a Terminator walks into his life.

The Terminator

In the distant future of 2029, mankind was almost made extinct by Skynet: an AI that triggered nuclear war and built an army of killer machines to exterminate the survivors.

One man, John Conner, organises a resistance that fights back. At the threshold of victory they discover that Skynet has sent one of its infiltration units: a Terminator T101 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) back in time to kill his mother Sarah (Linda Hamilton) and ensure he is never born.

One more trip is possible and Connor selects volunteer Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) to follow and protect her.

Reese is outmatched in almost every way by The Terminator but has some critical information it lacks: her full name and knowing her face from an old photograph.

Howard Ratner (Adam Sandler) is a jeweler with a massive gambling problem, a wife Dinah (Idina Menzel) who's about to divorce him, an expensive mistress Julia (Julia Fox) a dubious business relationship with Demany (Lakeith Stanfield) who attracts wealthy marks to his shop and a horde of loan sharks, creditors and unsatisfied customers who dog his every turn.

Luckily his big break has come in, a rare uncut black opal smuggled out of Africa which he thinks he can get a million dollars for at auction.

Novice agent for MI6 Rachel Stone (Gal Gadot) is working a job in Switzerland when it starts to go off the rails and she has to "get out of the van" instead of providing the remote tech support her teammates are expecting.

What her team don't know is she's a top agent for "The Charter", a supranational entity guided by a quantum AI who could probably do the whole mission herself.

Shenanigans ensue.

True crime writer Ellison (Ethan Hawke) moves his family to Pennsylvania to research his next book. While his first was a massive smash he's been getting diminishing returns and needs another hit badly as they are struggling financially.

He neglects to tell them the house belonged to the family whose murders he is researching.

In the attic he unexpectedly finds a box of Super8 film and projector. When Ellison plays the first film it breaks from innocent family scenes to footage of the murders. How can this be: it makes no sense that the Police would have missed this at the time.

He considers reporting this but when the other films in the box show a series of bizarre murders seemingly committed by the same person he decides that cracking this will be the relaunch his career needs.

Europa Report

The crew of the Europa One (Anamaria Marinca, Michael Nyqvist, Karolina Wydra, Daniel Wu, Sharlto Copley annd Christian Camargo) travel to Jupiter's moon Europa on a scientific mission to explore its frozen surface and if possible drill through into the ocean expected beneath it.

Teenager Quinn Brenner (Stefanie Scott) has lost her mother to cancer and wants to have another chance to speak to her. She has been dabbling with calling out to her and may have had some success so goes to medium Elise (Lin Shaye).

Lin advises her to stop, but being a teenager, Quinn doesn't listen.

Fontaine (John Boyega) is a drug dealer doing drug dealer shit. Following a turf dispute he is followed and shot six times point blank by a rival.

This is witnessed by pimp Slick Charles (Jamie Foxx) and heard by one of Slick's whores Yo-yo (Teyonah Paris).

The following morning Fontaine wakes from a bad dream and goes about his day. Which is about to get complicated.

Jenn (Kate Siegel) is struggling after losing a baby and splitting up with her fiancée.

Her friend suggests she goes to the therapist they have been using. He's really helped them and got them in the right frame of mind to succeed.

She's initially reluctant, but when she visits him warms to the idea and takes up the suggestion of hypnotherapy.
