I have no idea how this ended up on my watch list, perhaps somebody else recommended it, perhaps it was just a whim. It's been there a while. The image and short summary you get from Netflix give no clue to what it's really about and what a great movie this is.
Each of the people we are introduced to as the mystery is revealed are lonely and looking for something. There's a lot of contrivance in the links but that doesn't matter, each of them is individually internally consistent.
Being one of those multiple viewpoint movies it does the usual thing of showing you one side of a conversation or chain of events then upending your earlier assumptions when you see the other side. It's an old trick but here it's exceptionally well done.
Highly recommended 9/10.
