Army of the Dead

A zombie outbreak in Las Vegas is contained at great cost by the US military while a makeshift barrier wall is constructed penning the infected within Sin City. Now, years later after all other sources of infection have been eliminated the US government decides to eradicate the threat once and for all by nuking Las Vegas.

With just days to go, a wealthy businessman assembles a team to go in and steal the contents of a casino vault under cover of the evacuation. That however is not all they are after...

Snyder came to prominence with the excellent "Dawn of the Dead" remake so I had high hopes for this. What you get is part zombie movie part heist movie as you could easily guess from the blurb.

It's overlong, occasionally messy and short on surprises. Every scene is just a bit too rambling to maintain tension. I found myself looking at Twitter a lot.

It's like that dull meal you throw together after a long day that you can't be bothered to put any effort into. It fills a hole while being completely forgotten minutes later.

Workmanlike, 6/10.
