CW: suicide attempts

Korean gangster cinema delivers again.

You've got occasional bursts of ultraviolent action, reminiscent of John Wick but made more meaningful by a sense of consequences and a burgeoning understated, unconventional doomed romance. While it's clearly Uhm Tae-goo (Tae-goo) acting as lead protagonist, Jeon Yeo-been (Jay-yeon) has lots to say and do.

It _is_ perhaps too long, but apart from some early scenes with Tae-goo's sister it never gets boring as the length is used to build investment in the characters.

Recommended 8/10 but you've got to be in the mood for some very violent and somewhat bleak viewing.
