Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

Bridling at being confined to the sewer by their adoptive father Splinter the Turtles start to sneak off and watch the human world longingly.

They distract aspiring student journalist April O'Neil causing her scooter to get stolen. Feeling guilty about this they decide to help get it back.

Mayhem ensues.

CW: nothing really, some gross-out humour

Clearly riding in on the coat-tails of the Spider-verse movies this reboots TMNT with a strikingly noisy and colourful origin story.

It's very lightweight and shallow by comparison but it is very likeable.

The animation has a pseudo-crayon, scribbly style that works great and all the voice cast go at it with energy.

Fills the family friendly niche for slightly older kids well, 6/10. That sounds like I didn't like it much but it's more a reflection on how it's got a ye-olde superhero origin story plot with no attempt to do anything interesting at all.
