One Ape though is different: their son Caesar (Roddy McDowell) who is as smart as they were and taught to speak by his carer/guardian. Having led a sheltered life pretending to be less than he is when he's finally exposed to mankind's cruelty he begins to plot revolution.
This is a full on slave revolt against authoritarian rule story. Ape control even wears what looks like vintage SS uniform.
It starts well but once the revolt is underway gets a bit repetitive with long scenes of Apes rampaging and fighting police and paramilitaries.
Still good though 7/10. Many forget how good a franchise the Ape movies were and they've aged well.
