Minari

Jacob (Steven Yuen) and Monica (Han Ye‐ri) Yi are Korean immigrants working in the poultry industry in the USA. Dreaming of owning a farm, Jacob uproots the family and buys a parcel of land in rural Arkansas.

That's it, there's almost nothing more to say about this very grounded family drama.

There's no confected drama or peril. They struggle a bit, Monica is constantly disappointed and the kids, mainly their young and sickly son David do kid stuff.

Nobody is especially mean or racist to them but they bring over Monica's mother to look after the kids because they want to give them a Korean upbringing. They try to fit in and kind of struggle and they recruit a local eccentrically evangelical labourer who's the closest thing they have to a friend.

It is however the most naturally wholesome thing I've seen for ages 9/10, recommended. Your eyes might leak.
