Every night he barricades himself inside his remote home clutching a shotgun and waiting for it to come.
Another low budget monster movie with romantic/relationship themes at its core. Hank splits his time daydreaming idealised memories of Abby and waiting for the beast to come at night.
Throughout it mixes past, present and daydream in a way that you can pick up from context and Hank's state of dishevelment but this is a tad messy to unpick at first.
As it goes on it examines the reasons for Abby's departure and does a reveal you are expecting and one you aren't.
Even with quite a short running time it is slow but worth sticking with, 6/10 a lot more thirty something existential angst than monster fare with no actual horror.
