Heretic

Two young Mormon Missionaries Sister Barnes (Sophie Thatcher) and Sister Paxton (Chloe East) have a Mr. Reed (Hugh Grant) as their last visit of the day.

He has expressly registered an interest in their faith and when he invites them in out of the rain, against protocol and their own misgivings they agree.

No good will come of this.

CW: some gore

This is great fun. Mr. Reed is that very specific type of person who invites Missionaries in to debate philosophy and religion with them. He is well prepared and avuncular but clearly in a mood to try and demolish their faith.

It gets weirder and nastier as things go on with Hugh Grant absolutely nailing polite but spirited debate while aggressively pushing one boundary after another until suddenly it's "oh we're in a horror movie" o'clock.

Some of it's clearly a bit impractical if you think about the sequence of events and layout of the house but otherwise a real treat 8/10. It also makes me wonder when Sophie Thatcher sleeps as there was a period she seemed to be in everything.
