Predator: Killer of Killers

Over the centuries, Predators come to Earth and fight iconic adversaries until there is a final battle to crown the "Killer of Killers".

This animated triptych is Dan Trachtenberg's "secret movie" developed alongside "Predator: Badlands" and while it is very reminiscent of stringing some episodes from streaming animated anthologies like "Love, Death and Robots" or "Secret Level" together that's not a bad thing. Not everything has to be full of cinematic ambition and this format serves it well.

The three main sections have easy to pitch noble warrior stereotypes: a Viking war band, feuding Samurai and WWII fighter aces meeting the Yautja and the lone survivor moving forward in time to the final battle royale.

There are few surprises but we're not here for that and it's nicely animated with the feudal Japan section the most visually engaging.

Much like Trachtenberg's "Prey" this is a once moribund franchise getting a very workmanlike solid entry that I'd watch more of and unless he fumbles "Predator: Badlands" terribly I'd say he's essentially rescued it. Worth your time 7/10 but it's definitely TV not cinema.
