She seethes with resentment that he might consider moving on after her mother, who died from cancer, and the stage is set for an epic weekend of sullen door slamming teenage rage.

CW: animal death, mutilation, enucleation, general extreme violence and gore
I can imagine the pitch meeting...
"So how about Home Alone but also John Wick and the lead is a teenage girl".
This is a violent as they come home invasion thing that somehow injects class into that gonzo premise. It's got a lot of the standard elements but Lulu Wilson and Kevin James are excellent. There's a nice dose of mysticism to his white supremacist views that give the part weight rather than him being a generic violent thug.
There are relatively few set piece encounters between Becky and the interlopers but the script and pacing are taut as fuck and it maintains a degree of plausibility to her chances. I found myself gripped throughout when often I end up faffing on my tablet if things drag.
Recommended 8/10 but it really is quite violent. They deploy Chekhov's outboard motor.
