However on getting ready to leave they find every exit to the house blocked by a black fibrous wall and the TV displaying the cryptic message "Stay indoors and await further instructions".
No good will come of this.
Uber cheap British horror that's like a Poundland "10 Cloverfield Lane" or a bottle episode of The Twilight Zone stretched out to 90 minutes.
The dysfunctional extended family find themselves given increasingly unpleasant and divisive orders/tasks that could be from a hellish version of Big Brother but as it goes on it verges towards cosmic horror.
All the characters are heavy stereotypes, later events are sort of inconsistent with earlier ones and it's obviously done on less budget than an episode of Eastenders but it has a certain something. There's very old school stop motion animation in the final scenes which is a treat to see, even if it's weak by modern standards.
I got more from this than Top Gun: Maverick: it's obviously low rent but somebody poured their heart into it and that counts for something, 7/10. Old school 80s style horror sensibilities applied in a modern setting. Worth a look but don't expect high art.
