Infamous for a massacre of innocent schoolgirls they are the only thing The Sect really fear.
Now some years later Special Unit member Im Joo-kyung is injured in an operation against the Sect, reminiscent of the old atrocity. Afterwards he is sent to visit the sister of one of the Sect members Lee Yoon-he, unaware he is being set up in a guilt/romance sting to further discredit the Special Unit.
Nope.
It looks great. It kicks off with an amazing extended action scene starting with a riot and ending with Wolf Brigade hunting Sect in tunnels.
After that it gets a bit Bourne with the two on the run and a multi-party conspiracy plot that I just didn't believe in.
Then it gets a bit Robocop with Im hunting people in essentially the same set from the intro even though I don't think it's supposed to be the same location.
Yoon-he is set up to be an active character but then gets deprotagonised and her subplots dropped leaving her with nothing to do but get dragged around and simper. The romance plot where the robotically tough Im is supposed to feel all conflicted about having feelings for her is junk and there's little interaction let alone chemistry.
Then as it nears the end there's a bunch of stuff about rebelling running away and making a new life that is very badly executed.
Post watch googling has told me this is an adaptation of a much loved animated property but flopped and I can see why.
The Wolf Brigade costume is awesome though, they essentially look like baddies from a Wolfenstein game, stomping around in black hard shell armour with red eyes and LMGs.
Avoid, it's not worth your time 3/10.
