About as thinly veiled a satirical allegory for climate change denial as you could imagine this takes great performances then undermines them with a little too much silliness.
Lawrence is excellent as a smart young woman who hasn't got time for anybody's bullshit and Damon very believable as a well meaning but weak man seduced by celebrity.
It pokes at populist politicians, the unchecked whims of tech billionaires, media fascination with trivialities and just the general awfulness of about 50% of everything in modern consumer culture.
It's just too silly though and the occasional serious moments jar. I had expected something more from people's reactions at release but it does nothing unexpected and for something like this with aspirations of political relevance doesn't really land any punches.
Kind of did what it said on the tin, 6/10. Which is a shame for something with such a great cast.
