Dr. Strangelove

At the height of the "Mutually Assured Destruction" stage of the Cold War, an American General paranoid with thoughts of "Reds under the bed" and odd notions about fluoridation of water issues the orders for a retaliatory strike against the USSR by the B-52 bombers under his command. There has been nothing to retaliate against, he's just unhinged.

As those under his command defend the airbase against those sent to make him issue the recall order a seconded British officer attempts to win him back around. Meanwhile America's 'Top Brass' assemble in the Pentagon War Room to discuss what can be done.
