The theft is foiled but when the pair are set up by "The Bishop" (Gal Gadot) who actually makes off with the egg the two are forced to team up to either "clear their name" or "beat them to the next one" depending on which one you ask.
Ryan Reynolds does Rocket Racoon, Dwayne Johnson does The Rock and Gal Gadot does alternative universe Servalan where she took up art heists instead of running The Federation and crushing humanity under the bootheel of space fascism.
It's perfunctory with a capital P, riffing off Mission Impossible with a side order of Raiders of the Lost Art and every frenemies buddy movie ever made. The product placement is egregious, there's way more leery male gaze of Gadot than expected and looks hastily, if expensively produced.
However I did laugh at it quite a bit and found it easily engaging, it's not overlong and the only dull exposition comes from Interpol Inspector Das (Ritu Arya) when setting up the first act.
Don't expect much, 5/10. Don't expect a sequel.
