The Quiet Earth

Zac Hobson (Bruno Lawrence) awakes in a motel room with a stinking headache. When he goes outside there's nobody around.

This continues to be the case for some time.

CW: full frontal nudity

This classic cult Kiwi sci-fi from the 80s is something I saw at college and remembered nothing of apart from the iconic last scene. It's almost up there with Planet of the Apes for everything building to a single moment.

It's aged pretty well. Zac goes through the classic movie stages of complete isolation: denial, mania, self destruction and finally resolve and they're tackled with both sadness and humour.

Deservedly a weird classic 7/10.
