Second in command Dane (Matt Damon) pushes to act on a tip for a stash house at the end of the day and assembles the reluctant team.
When they get there it's a _huge_ stash, over 20m, and seemingly unguarded.
No good will come of this.
CW: more of the big swears than usual for a Netflix original
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck reunite for Joe Carnahan's workmanlike cop thriller.
A lot of Netflix's output suffers from being bland as fuck casual viewing nowadays but this at least makes an effort to be something you need to pay attention to.
It's not particularly novel but the early sections in the house and suspiciously quiet neighbourhood are very tense. Once it gets to shooty car chase territory it loses its way a bit.
Still, a decent cast all round with Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor and Catalina Sandino Moreno making up the rest of the team and being given enough to do despite the star headliners.
It's essentially a generic cop movie from a decade ago when generic cop movies were less often streaming shovelware so it's only 6/10. However it's perfectly creditable Saturday night viewing if you've really got nothing else you fancy lined up.
