Meek's Cutoff

A group of pioneer families are lost on the Oregon Trail having engaged the services of a guide: the titular Meek to lead them West.

As they slowly consume their supplies and face various hazards they struggle to agree.

This is as desolate as the landscape.

Almost nothing happens bar a slow trudge towards an ambiguous fate. It eschews most dramatic convention for just showing a believable situation instead.

Interesting 7/10, do not expect action or resolution: all the tension is from the emptiness.
