Both experience slightly stilted interactions with their peers but nothing they can put their finger on. Jasmine finds herself drawn to stories of a "witch" that haunts campus and becomes more and more disturbed as time passes and the tale begins to repeat itself.
This is Poundland Jordan Peele leaning hard into American racial politics with a dose of Witch trials, academic scandal, haunted house and "posh people aren't like us".
It's decent enough though and very ambiguous with spooky events that never become overtly threatening. Not in the slightest bit scary, somebody expecting horror will be unsatisfied, it's a mildly spooky tragic tale rooted in reality and solidly delivered.
Interesting for having two viewpoint characters given mostly equal coverage and serves well as "unusual debut feature" for writer/director Mariama Diallo. 6/10
